M. D. Anderson YMCA visits the Houston Symphony

How the Grinch Stole Christmas was a fantastic way for the Chester Pitts Charitable Foundation to end the 2013 year. We had a blast taking elementary aged children from the M.D Anderson YMCA branch to the Houston Symphony to see Dr. Suess’ classic story. Thank you to our friends at Macy’s and SuitMart for helping us dress up the children in suits and dresses. They all had a wonderful time picking out their outfits at the stores and looking their best on the day of the concert.

The children loved the concert and enjoyed signing along to songs with the audience. After the performance the Houston Symphony treated the kids to craft stations, cookies and punch and best of all a meet and greet with the Grinch himself!

4th Annual Single Fathers Shopping Event

For the fourth year the Chester Pitts Charitable Foundation chose single fathers to once again go shopping at our favorite store Costco Wholesale. We give a big thanks to Costco and its employees for helping to make this experience an awesome one for the families involved. We choose ten families from various YMCA locations to eat great pizza and desserts, decorate reindeer and christmas stockings and best of all, SHOP!
